Mothers

Mothers are often faced with high expectations from society, family, and even themselves. There’s pressure to "do it all" — be successful at work, an engaged parent, a devoted partner and friend — while managing a disproportionate amount of the mental load.

I am the mother to three dynamically different children (ages 12, 9 and 5) and have an understanding of the unique challenges – the joys and the sorrows – that take place during this time.

I have also received training from Postpartum Support International and am able to support mothers and families during the perinatal and postpartum periods, one of the most dynamic, difficult and transformative times in a person’s life. In particular, I care deeply about helping mothers navigate difficult fertility challenges and loss, from miscarriage and stillbirth to termination for medical reasons.

Couples

In our work together, couples begin by creating a safe place to explore unique attachment histories and styles, as well as communication patterns that can result in cycles of disharmony.

In doing so, individuals have the potential to create a more robust connection to themselves and their partners. Developing awareness around a couple's (both individual and collective) emotional needs can create the possibility of expressing those needs more clearly and conscientiously.

By exploring each person's role in the overall couple's dynamic, we can bring insight into behavioral patterns and offer suggestions for meaningful and lasting change.

Teens

In addition to high rates of depression and anxiety, teens today navigate fears about climate change, academic pressure, relationship struggles, and social media landscapes. It’s easy for teens, and their parents, to be overwhelmed by it all.

I work with teens on how to approach the complex issues of adolescence, as well as the individual growth and resilience that must take place during this crucial time of development. I work with parents to establish common ground, developmentally appropriate expectations, and strategies for staying connected.

In this place of deeper understanding, parents can remain attuned to to their teen’s evolving needs and values, and together, navigate the transformational journey into adulthood.

Families

I believe individuals cannot be fully understood in isolation from one another, but rather as a part of the systems in which they were raised. I work with parents and caregivers to explore intergenerational patterns of behavior and create corrective emotional experiences within their own families.

As a parent myself, I know firsthand the challenges of modern family life, and it is my priority to provide nonjudgmental listening and support as we identify precedents, patterns, and difficulties in communication and emotional expression that can lead to pain and hardship within the family system.

In our work together, we can imagine how to support the family’s idiosyncratic needs, while cultivating a life of nourishment and stability.
